American tennis standout Jessica Pegula is ready to make her return to Roland Garros after missing last year’s French Open. Ranked World No. 3, the 31-year-old star is heading back to Paris with her eyes set on winning her very first Grand Slam title.
Earlier this year, Pegula gave fans reason to be hopeful by winning her first-ever title on clay at the Charleston Open, a big milestone that shows she’s becoming more comfortable on the slower surface. That win gave her a nice boost heading into the clay-court season.
But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Injuries have been a concern, and they showed in recent tournaments, she wasn’t able to make it past the second round in Madrid or Rome, two key warm-up events before the French Open. So, while she’s returning with momentum, there are still some question marks about her fitness and form.
Jessica Pegula has steadily climbed the ranks over the past few years and built a strong reputation as a consistent threat in major tournaments. Her best Grand Slam showing so far came at the 2024 US Open, where she reached the final but fell short against World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
She’s also made it to at least the quarterfinals at each of the four Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open), proving she can compete on any surface.
