Florida football is taking a well-deserved break in Week 5 after a challenging start to the season. Despite an early blowout loss to Miami, the Gators bounced back by earning their first SEC win, defeating Mississippi State on the road. In that victory, Florida continued to rotate between quarterbacks Graham Mertz and DJ Lagway.

Now, with a week off, the Gators are preparing for their next challenge: an in-state showdown against UCF. This will be the teams’ fourth-ever matchup and their first since 2021. With extra time to prepare, Florida will look to defend “The Swamp” and avoid an upset.
