Sarah Jessica Parker is preparing to say goodbye to her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw. She has brought the character to life on screen for over three decades and recently shared her thoughts on what the future holds for Carrie.
In a conversation with Evan Ross Katz, Parker described playing Carrie as an “extraordinary job.” She reflected on the challenge of definitively ending a character’s story, especially given the revival of the Sex and the City series.
Parker explained that she and showrunner Michael Patrick King decided to conclude And Just Like That out of respect for the show and their experiences working on it. She said it wasn’t about stopping success but honoring the affection they felt for the job and the story they had told over the years.
Earlier this month, it was announced that And Just Like That will end with its third season. Parker also posted a heartfelt note on Instagram, sharing that Carrie Bradshaw had been a defining part of her career for 27 years.
And Just Like That is available to stream on HBO Max.
