Marjorie Taylor Greene, known for her tendency to interpret natural phenomena as divine signs, might have seen this cancellation as another instance of heavenly intervention. Just weeks earlier, she had taken to social media to attribute earthquakes and eclipses to divine messages urging America to repent. Yet, her silence regarding the cancellation of Trump’s rally speaks volumes about the selective application of her logic.
In Greene’s skewed worldview, earthquakes and eclipses are interpreted as criticisms of the Biden administration, but when it comes to Trump, her interpretation conveniently falters. It’s as if her supposed divine signs only apply when it suits her political agenda. This blatant hypocrisy underscores her penchant for political opportunism over principled reasoning.
Indeed, Greene’s track record of embracing fringe ideas, from QAnon support to controversial COVID-19 remarks, has earned her widespread criticism and led to her being stripped of committee assignments. Despite this setback, she continues to espouse her unhinged ideas unabated.
One can’t help but wonder if Greene’s penchant for wild speculations might find a more suitable outlet in a career as a full-time fortune teller. After all, her selective application of logic and her willingness to embrace fantastical interpretations suggest a departure from reality that aligns more with fortune telling than with responsible governance.
