Ed and Liz were prominently featured in several 90 Day Fiancé specials as they endeavored to navigate their tumultuous, on-and-off relationship. While their dynamic didn’t exactly exemplify a healthy partnership, there’s no denying that they provided ample entertainment for viewers.

Although Ed initially gained recognition on the show through his relationship with Rose Vega, Liz joined the cast at a later stage. As an American couple, however, they deviated significantly from the original premise of the show.

Elizabeth “Liz” Woods in a Flower Field Image via @e_92_marie/Instagram Liz, a single mother and former restaurant manager hailing from San Diego, California, identifies as multiracial. In a now-deleted Instagram post, she mentioned her Hispanic heritage, with her grandparents of Hispanic descent being featured on the show. However, some viewers questioned why the show chose to follow Liz and Big Ed, given that she was born and raised in San Diego, California.

The foundation of 90 Day Fiancé revolves around the K-1 visa, which permits the fiancé of a U.S. citizen to legally enter the country for a 90-day period. If the couple can demonstrate the legitimacy of their relationship, they have the option to marry within this timeframe, after which the foreign spouse can apply for a Green Card. Given that both Liz and Big Ed are American citizens, they do not meet the criteria for a K-1 visa.

Despite their ineligibility, it appears that the 90 Day Fiancé production team made an exception for Ed and Liz, likely due to Ed’s popularity with audiences from his initial appearance on the show. For those who may not have been invested in following their journey, it may come as a relief to learn that the couple has since parted ways. Liz appears to have found happiness with a new partner in San Diego, while Big Ed remains, well, Big Ed. Regardless of her future involvement in the 90 Day Fiancé universe, we extend our best wishes to Liz in her new relationship journey.
