What is Deliver Me From Nowhere About?

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is an upcoming biopic about Bruce Springsteen, with Jeremy Allen White playing the legendary musician. The film focuses specifically on the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, which he famously recorded by himself in his New Jersey bedroom using a simple 4-track recorder. Directed and written by Scott Cooper, the movie aims to capture an important chapter in Springsteen’s career and personal life, rather than telling his whole life story. It’s produced by 20th Century Studios and is set to hit theaters on October 24, 2025.

The story zooms in on the creation of Nebraska, a raw and stripped-down album that marked a big departure from Springsteen’s usual arena-rock style. This project happened during a time when Springsteen was also working on the much more polished Born in the U.S.A. album, all while dealing with personal struggles that he has said have followed him throughout his life. Springsteen himself described this period as a defining moment, saying it was all about making that particular record amid other challenges.

Jeremy Allen White, who many know from the show The Bear, stars as Springsteen, and the real Bruce has praised his performance, especially his singing. Springsteen told SiriusXM that Jeremy “sings very well” and brings an interpretation of him that fans will truly recognize. The film also features a strong supporting cast including Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s longtime manager Jon Landau, Paul Walter Hauser as recording engineer Mike Batlan, Odessa Young as Springsteen’s love interest Faye, Stephen Graham as his father Douglas Springsteen, and Gaby Hoffmann as his mother Adele.

The first trailer, released on June 18, gives a glimpse of the emotional depth of the film. It shows White’s Springsteen working alone on his music, performing live, and navigating family tensions. One powerful moment features Landau telling a record executive that the album isn’t about chart success, but about supporting what Bruce wants to create at that time. The trailer ends with a memorable scene of White performing Born to Run on stage, drenched in sweat under the bright lights, saying, “I’m trying to find something real in all the noise.”
