In the expansive Bravo universe, there’s a long history of cast members who made a splash for just one season, from Diana Jenkins of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to Brett Caprioni of Vanderpump Rules.
While these shows typically shine the spotlight on Los Angeles, Bravo’s influence extends worldwide, thanks in part to Below Deck. This reality TV series, which follows the adventures of cabin crew members on luxury yachts, made its debut in 2011 and has continued to air seasons ever since. However, it encountered its first “one-season wonder” back in 2013.
Enter Raquel Dakota, better known as “Rocky,” who caused quite a stir during her time on Below Deck’s third season. Serving as the third stewardess on board the Eros Yacht, Rocky made waves throughout the season, despite her short-lived tenure on Bravo.
Rocky’s journey on Below Deck was marked by numerous confrontations, including clashes with her boss, Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain, and even Captain Lee Rosbach. These conflicts ultimately led to her departure from the show after just one season. Additionally, Rocky had a romantic liaison with Bosun Eddie Lucas, despite his relationship status back home.
Another memorable moment from Rocky’s time on Below Deck was her temporary role as the yacht’s chef, filling in for departing chef Leon Walker. However, her attempt at preparing an oyster dish resulted in guests becoming ill, adding to the drama.
Beyond reality TV, Rocky transitioned out of the yachting industry after Below Deck Season 3 aired. She relocated to Hawaii, where she pursued various endeavors, including surfing, competitive national diving, and culinary arts. Rocky has also found love and is currently in a relationship with a man named Mark. Notably, she follows a vegan lifestyle and is a certified yoga coach.
However, amidst her personal and professional pursuits, Rocky has faced tragedy, with the loss of her younger sister, Sophia Tiare Bartlow, in a tragic car accident in 2017. Rocky often takes to social media to honor her sister’s memory, sharing Bible quotes and Christian affirmations.
While Rocky’s life has continued to evolve post-Below Deck, Bravo has a history of bringing back former cast members, leaving open the possibility that her story may intersect with the network again in the future.
