Weezer’s longtime bassist Scott Shriner has made his first public comments after his wife, author Jillian Lauren, was shot by police and charged with attempted murder following a dramatic and troubling incident in Los Angeles. Despite the gravity of the situation, Scott remained composed and even cheerful when briefly addressing the media.

The 59-year-old musician was spotted walking his four dogs through his Eagle Rock neighborhood when he spoke briefly with The Post. “She’s alright, thank you for asking. See you at Coachella!” he said, choosing to stay positive and focus on Weezer’s upcoming performance at the popular music festival. After the brief chat, Scott returned quietly to his home.

Just days earlier, Weezer confirmed via Instagram that they’ll be performing on Coachella’s Mojave Stage during the festival’s first weekend. “A desert surprise 🌵 See you at @coachella on the Mojave stage next Saturday @ 3:10,” the band wrote, keeping fans excited amid personal upheaval.

Behind the scenes, though, the situation involving Jillian Lauren is far more serious. According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a hit-and-run call on Tuesday. When they arrived, three suspects reportedly ran off near the couple’s home. Police say they then encountered Jillian, 51, standing outside with a handgun.

Authorities allege that she refused to drop the weapon despite several warnings and even pointed it at officers. Police opened fire, hitting her, though her injuries were not life-threatening. After briefly retreating into the house, she eventually came back outside and was arrested. She’s now facing charges of attempted murder.

Jillian Lauren is a well-known author, best recognized for her bestselling true crime book Behold the Monster, which explores the disturbing story of serial killer Samuel Little. Before the incident, she had been open about her personal health struggles, including a recent cancer diagnosis and surgery. She and Scott have been married since 2005 and are parents to two adopted children.

As of now, it’s unclear what Jillian’s next steps will be legally or whether she’ll be well enough to support Scott during Coachella. But despite the intense media attention and legal battle ahead for his wife, Scott appears focused on moving forward with Weezer’s commitments and keeping things steady for his family.
