A business jet bounded for St. Petersburgh from Moscow crashed on Wednesday, killing all 10 people on board, as per the Russian emergency officials said. Mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was on the passenger list, as per the officials, but it was not immediately confirmed if he was on board.
As per some media reports, the jet belonged to Prigozhin, who is the founder of Wagner private military company.
Russia’s civilian aviation regulator, Rosaviatsia, stated that Prigozhin was the list of the passenger but it was unclear if he had boarded the flight.
As per the reports by Russian news agency Tass, the plane carried three pilots and seven passengers. The authorities said they were investigating the crash, which occurred around 100 kilometers north of Moscow, in the region of Tver.
For the unversed, earlier in late June, Prigozhin’s Wagner, which fought alongside Russian army in Ukraine mounted a short-lived armed mutiny against Russia’s military leadership. Kremlin had said that Wagner chief would be exiled to Belarus and his fighters would either follow him there, retire, or join the Russian army.
