Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s survivors, was reportedly under a lot of stress before her tragic death on April 25. According to The Mirror, she was deeply worried about losing a multi-million-pound settlement she received from Prince Andrew.
Prince Andrew, who faced accusations of sexual assault himself, settled the case with Giuffre by agreeing to a payout. He also made a large donation to her anti-sex-trafficking nonprofit, with much of that money going directly to her. But just weeks before her death, Giuffre feared this fortune might be taken away.
Her anxiety grew because another Epstein victim, artist Rina Oh, sued her for defamation. Giuffre had publicly described Oh as Epstein’s girlfriend, a claim Oh denied and fought against legally. This lawsuit added a heavy burden to Giuffre’s already difficult situation.
On top of the legal troubles, Giuffre was reportedly struggling with her personal life—her marriage was falling apart, and she was worried about losing custody of her three children to her husband.
An insider told the outlet that Giuffre felt like everything she had fought so hard for was slipping away. The source pointed out that this pressure came on top of years of trauma from her abuse by Epstein.
In the defamation case, Oh’s lawyer argued that Giuffre knowingly made harmful accusations to damage Oh’s reputation. They claimed Giuffre’s intentions were malicious and that her statements were causing serious harm to Oh.
This lawsuit was said to be a potential weapon for Prince Andrew’s legal team, possibly to undermine Giuffre’s 2021 sexual abuse lawsuit against him.
Overall, the combination of legal battles, personal struggles, and the emotional weight of her past reportedly left Giuffre feeling overwhelmed and distressed in the final weeks of her life.
