On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings made a move to add competition for their punting position by signing free agent punter Seth Vernon.

Vernon’s journey to the NFL has been one of persistence and versatility. After going undrafted in 2022, he began his football career at Santa Rosa Junior College before transferring to Portland State. During his time at Santa Rosa, Vernon showcased his multifaceted skill set, not only excelling as a punter but also making an impact as a wide receiver, hauling in 26 receptions and six touchdowns.

Despite going undrafted, Vernon’s talent caught the attention of the Atlanta Falcons, who signed him as an undrafted free agent. Although his tenure with the Falcons was brief, appearing in just one preseason game, Vernon’s potential as a punter remained evident.
