US Vice President JD Vance is set to meet top airline executives at the White House on Thursday to talk about how the ongoing government shutdown is affecting the aviation industry.

The meeting will include United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby and American Airlines CEO Robert Isom, according to a report from Bloomberg. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will also join the discussion, along with former New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who now heads Airlines for America, a major industry trade group.

The White House wants to highlight the growing strain the shutdown is putting on air travel as lawmakers struggle to reach a deal on government funding. Duffy said earlier this week that travelers should expect even more flight delays and disruptions if the shutdown continues.

The roundtable aims to find ways to limit the damage to the aviation industry while pushing Congress to resolve the funding standoff soon.
