K-pop fans were buzzing over the weekend after a video surfaced online that allegedly showed VERIVERY’s Kangmin and KISS OF LIFE’s Julie spending time together. The clip, which also appeared to feature fellow VERIVERY member Yeonho, quickly went viral, leading to widespread speculation about whether the two idols might be dating. However, while many fans questioned the nature of their relationship, others voiced concern about the clear invasion of privacy involved in leaking and spreading the video.

The short video was reportedly taken inside a private lounge or bar and showed a man and a woman appearing to be close, with another person joining them later. The footage was blurry, and their faces were hard to make out, but online users were quick to name Kangmin, Julie, and Yeonho as the people in the clip. Despite the lack of proof, the video spread across social media platforms, forcing their agencies to respond.

Julie’s label, S2 Entertainment, kept their statement brief and neutral, saying, “It concerns the artist’s private life, so there is nothing the company can comment on.” In contrast, VERIVERY’s management, Jellyfish Entertainment, came out with a firm denial, calling the rumors “completely false” and labeling them a “malicious fabrication that seriously damages the artist’s reputation.” The agency also hinted at taking legal action to protect their artists’ rights.

Fans of both idols have been calling for the video’s removal from all platforms, emphasizing that filming or sharing private moments without consent crosses ethical and legal boundaries, regardless of whether the people involved are celebrities.

Meanwhile, Kangmin has been in the spotlight for more positive reasons lately. He gained massive support after his appearance on BOYS II PLANET, Mnet’s latest idol survival program. Despite ranking high for most of the competition, he narrowly missed the final lineup, placing ninth — just one spot shy of debuting in the new boy group ALPHA DRIVE ONE.

As of now, neither Kangmin nor Julie has personally commented on the rumors, and both fandoms are urging people to respect their privacy until any official clarification is made.
