July 9 marked a meaningful occasion for BTS and their global fanbase as it was the 12th anniversary of ARMY Day. This date commemorates the moment in 2013 when BTS officially named their fandom “ARMY,” symbolizing over a decade of loyalty, connection, and shared growth between the group and their fans. Each year, this day is celebrated with messages, memories, and tributes that highlight the deep bond BTS shares with their supporters.
This year, despite their packed schedules, members V and Jimin took time to reach out to fans on Weverse. V, also known as Kim Taehyung, shared two photos from his recent trip to Paris for Fashion Week. Along with the pictures, he wrote simple messages: “Happy ARMY Day” and “Have a happiest day today.” Fans were touched by his gesture and noted how he is often the first to remember and post on ARMY Day, a tradition that further endears him to many.
Jimin also marked the occasion with a message and a sneak peek into his current activities. He wrote, “Happy birthday. I love you. I will work hard and come back to you!!” His post included a picture of him wearing headphones, seemingly in a recording studio. This led fans to speculate that he is already preparing music, possibly for BTS’s upcoming group comeback album. The timing of his message and the image gave fans extra reason to celebrate, feeling as though they were receiving a gift in return for their years of dedication.
Many fans also expressed hope for an OT7 live broadcast to mark the anniversary. Some commented that they were “manifesting OT7 live today,” hoping to see all seven members together. However, due to current schedules, this seemed unlikely. J-Hope has not been publicly seen since attending BLACKPINK’s concert on July 6, and V was reportedly heading to Los Angeles following his Paris schedule. Jin is preparing for solo concerts in Anaheim scheduled for July 17 and 18, and it’s unclear if he will reunite with the other members in LA beforehand.
Even without an OT7 appearance, the heartfelt messages from V and Jimin made ARMY Day feel special. The day served as a reminder of the group’s continuing efforts to stay connected with their fans and hinted at exciting things ahead, including the long-awaited 2026 group comeback.
