Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed just pulled off a stealth kill on Elon Musk

Elon Musk and Mark Kern (aka Grummz) were already in the middle of a cringeworthy back-and-forth about gaming when Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed account decided to drop from the rafters and absolutely destroy them.

Musk—who was recently caught paying other people to play games for him—and Kern—who is infamous for ranting about “woke” gaming conspiracies—both took issue with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the upcoming ninja-samurai entry in the AC franchise.

Why? Because the game features a Black samurai as a protagonist. Yes, really.

Popular streamer Hasan posted a tongue-in-cheek promo for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, prompting Kern to jump in and accuse Ubisoft of supporting “terrorist-platforming streamers.”

Elon Musk, never one to miss a chance to stir the pot, replied:

“Hasan is a fraud.”

That’s when Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed account struck with lethal precision:

“Is that what the guy playing your Path of Exile 2 account told you?”

Translation: Ubisoft just mocked Musk for having other people play his games for him.

Kern then tried to clap back—but AC wasn’t done. They swiftly finished him off with a brutal response:

“Our game is out.”

Translation: Unlike Kern’s Em-8er, a game announced in 2016 that still hasn’t been released, Assassin’s Creed actually delivers.

The internet went wild. People flooded the replies, cheering Ubisoft’s ratio, laughing at Musk and Kern, and even promising to buy Shadows just because of the takedown.

Let’s be real—the real reason they’re angry is because the game’s protagonist, Yasuke, is a Black samurai.

Yes, Yasuke was a real historical figure, an African samurai who served under Oda Nobunaga in 16th-century Japan. But facts don’t stop the usual crowd from crying about “forced diversity” in media.

So instead of just ignoring the game, Musk and Kern went full meltdown mode—and Ubisoft’s social media team silently climbed a tower, synchronized the map, and dove straight into their mentions for the kill.

Ubisoft not only came out on top, but the whole fiasco has boosted interest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game is already being hailed as the best AC title in a decade, and now people are buying it just to support the team that ratioed Musk on his own platform.

The final words on this?

“Requiescat in pace.”
