The British actor Tom Wilkinson, who popularly known for his roles in Batman Begins and The Full Monty, has passed away at the age of 75.
“It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announce that he died suddenly at home on December 30th,” a statement obtained by Page Six read.
The late actor was born in Leeds, England in 1948 and he started acting at the age of 18.
The news of his death was first reported by BBC, to whom he once said, “For the first time in my life, I started doing something I knew how to do.”
Wilkinson honed his craft at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and landed his first television role in 1975 on the series titled ‘2nd House’.
His major role, which served as a breakout role for him came over a decade later, in 1986, when he landed a role in mini-series ‘First Among Equals’.
