Marvel has finally lifted the curtain on the next big Spider-Man film — and it’s coming with a bold new title. Say goodbye to the “Home” trilogy and hello to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Yep, that’s the official title of the fourth film in Tom Holland’s Spidey saga, and it was just revealed by director Destin Daniel Cretton during CinemaCon. Fans, get hyped: filming kicks off this summer!
Now, if that title sounds familiar to comic book readers, it’s because it’s inspired by one of the most talked-about — and controversial — Spider-Man storylines from the comics. The 2008 arc “One More Day” had Peter Parker make a desperate deal with the devilish Mephisto to save Aunt May. The catch? His entire relationship and marriage to MJ is magically erased, along with the world’s knowledge of his identity. Basically, Peter Parker hits reset on his life, but at a massive emotional cost.
Why is that relevant now? Because the No Way Home finale left Peter in a very similar situation. After a mind-bending spell by Doctor Strange, the entire world — MJ, Ned, even the Avengers — forgot who Peter Parker is. That cliffhanger had fans reeling, and now Brand New Day picks up right from that emotional gut punch.
In this upcoming film, we’ll watch Peter try to rebuild his life from scratch. He’s on his own, no friends, no connections, and no backup. But that doesn’t mean he’s giving up. In fact, he’s going to do whatever it takes to reconnect with the people he loves — especially MJ.
Though Tom Holland couldn’t make it to the big reveal event (he’s busy filming another project), he still popped in with a video message for the fans. In it, he teased that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is all about a “fresh start” for the web-slinger. “We left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home,” Holland said. “This new movie is exactly what the title says — a brand new day.”
One thing to note: if you were hoping to see Spider-Man team up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Doomsday, you’re out of luck — reports say he won’t appear in that film.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially swinging into theaters on July 31, 2026. Mark your calendars and maybe keep a tissue handy — it sounds like this one’s gonna hit us right in the feels.
