Tom Holland is set to reprise his role as Spider-Man in the upcoming Marvel film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The movie recently began production, and Holland shared his excitement about returning to the set and donning a new Spider-Man suit. He took to Instagram to post a behind-the-scenes video from his first day, expressing how different it feels to step back into the role despite his long association with the franchise.
In the video, Holland said, “My fourth ever day one on Spider-Man. You know, it’s funny putting the suit on. It feels different this time somehow. It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one. So, it’s really exciting to share this with them.” He added, “I’m just going to do my best. Hopefully get it right. No pressure.” The new suit, debuted on August 3, features a larger spider emblem on the chest. Holland also showcased a stunt, commenting, “Wow, that was a really good one. That felt sick.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature several returning characters, including Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Michael Mando will reprise his role as the Scorpion, and Sadie Sink has joined the cast. Fans can expect Peter Parker to face a host of villains, including the Silver Samurai and the Viper.
Plot details remain largely under wraps, but the story is expected to pick up after the events of No Way Home, where Peter Parker’s memory was erased from everyone’s minds, including his family and friends. Recent leaked set photos show Holland and Zendaya filming at a graveyard, with Aunt May’s tombstone visible, hinting at emotionally charged scenes ahead.
