Tom Holland has a packed slate of projects ahead, but the actor is making it clear that he values balance as much as success. In a recent conversation with British GQ, the Spider-Man star opened up about avoiding burnout and the importance of setting boundaries while navigating Hollywood.
The actor admitted that while opportunities continue to pour in, he knows he cannot do everything. “You can’t be in every movie, and you can’t do your best work when you’re burnt out,” Holland said. “What I’ve learned is that it’s important to set boundaries—to be mindful about overworking.”
Currently the new face of Prada’s Paradigme fragrance, Holland shared that he feels fortunate to be at a stage in his career where he can step back when needed. “I feel really blessed to be at a point in my career where I can take time off, reset, and come back ready to go,” he explained.
The actor has previously been candid about his mental health journey. In 2022, he revealed that he took a break from acting and social media, as well as quitting alcohol to maintain his well-being. A year later, in June 2023, he spoke about stepping away from the spotlight after enduring a challenging time filming the Apple TV series The Crowded Room.
Looking ahead, Holland acknowledged that his schedule remains demanding. “I’ve got a slightly busy year next year,” he told the magazine, adding that he plans to take more extended time off in 2027.
Despite his focus on balance, Holland has plenty of exciting projects on the horizon. He will reprise his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where he’ll reunite with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. In addition, he is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film The Odyssey.
Both movies have already generated significant buzz. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on July 31, 2026, while The Odyssey will arrive in theaters shortly before, on July 17, 2026.
