If you’re even a little into anime, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Tokyo Revengers. Created by Ken Wakui, this series has become a massive hit not just in Japan but all over the world. Over the years, it’s gained a huge fanbase thanks to its 31 manga volumes and three action-packed anime seasons. In fact, it’s done so well that it even won a major manga award in 2020, the 44th Annual Kodansha Manga Award. Long story short: people really love this show.
Now, what’s it actually about?
Tokyo Revengers tells the story of a guy named Takemichi Hanagaki. His life isn’t going great, until one day he’s mysteriously pushed in front of a train and wakes up 12 years in the past. Sounds crazy, right? But there’s a twist. Just before the accident, Takemichi found out that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, was killed in some gang violence involving the dangerous Tokyo Manji Gang. So, when he ends up in the past, he sees it as a chance to fix everything, especially to save Hinata’s life and make things right.
Since its debut, Tokyo Revengers hasn’t just stuck to anime. It has become such a hit that it now features a live-action movie, a video game, and even two stage plays in Japan. It’s safe to say that the story has resonated with many fans in various ways.

Tokyo Revengers season 4 release date
As of now, Tokyo Revengers Season 4 is expected to release sometime in 2026.
If you’ve been following the series, you probably know that its release schedule hasn’t exactly been consistent. Season 1 dropped in 2021, then fans had to wait two whole years for Season 2 in 2023. Surprisingly, season 3 followed just a few months later in the same year, definitely not what anyone expected.
Although production for Season 4 kicked off back in summer 2024, the bad news is: we won’t be seeing new episodes in 2025. The team behind the anime released a teaser trailer confirming that the next arc will debut in 2026 instead.
Yeah, the wait might be a little annoying, but the bright side is, this gives fans plenty of time to catch up or rewatch all the intense twists and emotional moments from the first three seasons before Takemichi returns to fix the future once again.

Tokyo Revengers season 4 plot details
Season 3 of Tokyo Revengers brought the intense Tenjiku Arc to life, widely praised as one of the manga’s absolute best. The next story up is the Bonten Arc, which picks up right after the events of Tenjiku.
The Bonten Arc spans chapters 187 to 206 in the manga and includes a major twist: Takemichi travels back to the future, only to discover things are worse than ever. This arc dives deeper into darker themes and reveals some shocking developments that set the stage for the manga’s endgame.
Now here’s the big question:
Will Season 4 also cover the Final Arc of the manga, or is there a Season 5 in the works?
At this point, nothing has been confirmed. All we know for sure is that Season 4 will adapt the Bonten Arc, and it’s very possible that the Final Arc could be saved for a future season (or even a movie). Either way, it’s clear we’re heading into the climax of the Tokyo Revengers saga.
