TikTok adds new AI tools and bigger payouts for creators

TikTok is rolling out new AI features and a better payment system for creators, showing how serious the platform is about helping people grow and make money through content.

Two new tools called Smart Split and AI Outline are designed to make creating videos faster and easier. At the same time, TikTok has updated its Subscription program so creators can earn more from their fans each month.

Smart Split is now available worldwide on TikTok Studio Web. It automatically cuts long videos into short clips that fit perfectly on TikTok. The tool can reframe shots, add captions, and even transcribe videos that are more than a minute long. This means creators can turn long podcasts, vlogs, or interviews into several smaller clips ready to post. You can even pick how long each clip should be and upload them straight after editing.

The second feature, AI Outline, helps creators plan their videos before filming. It gives a full structure based on your idea or trending topics. Once you type a prompt, it suggests video titles, opening hooks, hashtags, and even a six-part outline. You can adjust everything to match your tone or style. Right now, AI Outline is available for users aged 18 and up in the U.S., Canada, and a few other regions, with more countries to come soon.

TikTok has also made a big change to how creators get paid. With the new subscription payout system, creators can now earn up to 90% of profits after platform fees. Fans can pay for exclusive videos, perks, or other member-only content.

Here’s how it works: creators get a base payout of 70% of TikTok’s revenue share, and if they meet a few conditions, like having at least 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the last month, and posting at least three subscriber-only videos, they can get an extra 20% bonus each month.

These updates come as TikTok continues to compete with platforms like YouTube and Twitch, both of which are also testing their own AI editing and clipping tools. TikTok says its goal is to make it simpler for creators to film, edit, and earn without needing advanced skills or expensive tools.

With these AI upgrades and higher payouts, TikTok hopes to keep its creators inspired, organized, and motivated to grow their audiences, all while making better content faster than ever.
