Tia Mowry is finding meaningful ways to move forward following her split from ex-husband Cory Hardrict after 14 years of marriage. In an emotional reflection on the October 11 episode of her show, ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act’, she shared her decision to repurpose her wedding ring for her children, Cree, 13, and Cairo, 6.
Mowry explained that she hadn’t worn the ring for nearly two years, and selling it didn’t feel right. Instead, she plans to transform the bands into something symbolic for her kids, whom she considers her greatest gift. This approach allows her to put the ring to use rather than leaving it unused and tucked away.
While repurposing the ring for her children feels meaningful, Mowry admitted that the process hasn’t been easy. It’s bittersweet for her, as the ring symbolizes a marriage that is now over. However, she views the transformation of the ring as part of embracing her new chapter.
Since finalizing her divorce in April, Mowry has focused on self-discovery and personal growth. Though she is open to the possibility of love in the future, the Sister, Sister alum shared that she’s not currently seeking romance. Instead, she is prioritizing self-care and learning what love truly means.
Reflecting on her relationship with Hardrict, Mowry acknowledged that it had been a significant part of her life. She met Cory at 20, and the couple married after years of building a strong foundation. Despite the emotional challenges, Mowry remains optimistic about her journey and the new choices she’s making.
