On the April 9 episode of The Young and the Restless, suspicions surrounding Alan’s true identity hit a breaking point—and the drama doesn’t let up.

Ashley continues to be convinced that the man everyone thinks is Alan is actually Martin, Alan’s dangerously unstable twin. She insists that Martin has taken over Alan’s life and is now manipulating Traci. Traci is shaken by Ashley’s accusations but starts noticing strange behavior in “Alan” that makes her question things too.

During a tense hotel meeting, Traci tells Alan she wants to put their wedding plans on hold. This doesn’t sit well with him—he pressures her for a reason, which only unsettles her more. What Alan doesn’t know is that Jack and Ashley are nearby, secretly listening in and ready to jump in if things go south.

The situation escalates when Ashley outright accuses Alan of lying about being in Paris, implying that Martin never went there at all. Alan brushes off the accusation, but when Traci tries to calm everyone down, he suddenly storms out, only fueling their doubts. Devastated, Traci finally admits that the man she fell for would never act like this. Ashley gently but firmly tells her, “That’s because he isn’t Alan.”

Meanwhile, Jack brings Chance into the mix. Chance catches up with Alan at a bar and tries to question him about a suspicious farmhouse possibly linked to the abductions. Alan dodges the topic completely, prompting Chance to invite him to the station for further questioning.

Elsewhere, Phyllis brings Summer up to speed with new findings, including a gas device tied to the case. She reveals that authorities now suspect Alan might be dead—and that Martin has been impersonating him. Summer is shocked to learn that someone possibly involved in her mother’s kidnapping had been living so close to Harrison.

Phyllis also presses Summer about her breakup with Chance, and Summer confesses that her feelings for Kyle aren’t exactly gone. Phyllis worries that this might lead to rekindling an old flame, something she sees as risky.

In another subplot, Sharon confides in Nick, revealing her unease that Alan may have used their therapy sessions to manipulate her. The two begin to question how deeply they were fooled.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Traci confronting Alan one last time. She pleads with him to be honest and tell her the truth about who he really is. The screen fades as viewers are left hanging, still wondering: Is Alan really Alan… or has Martin taken over his life?
