Mike White is developing the next season of HBO’s White Lotus as an anthology series featuring a different cast of rich people and employees at an upscale hotel every season, using dark comedy, social commentary, drama and suspense (with one or more murders usually occurring), each season over the course of approximately one week at an exclusive hotel.

The White Lotus Season 4: Release window

No official premiere date has been announced as of yet, with filming expected to take place from April 2026 to October 2026, primarily at the main filming site and possibly at other locations. Reasonably, based on previous television seasons’ production timelines, it appears the show will be released sometime in 2027 (probably sometime between early-spring-mid-2027). The show was renewed by HBO for Season 3 back in January 2025, while Season 3’s (premiered February-April 2025) casting and production updates are still happening as of early 2026. Therefore, these time gaps appear to coincide with the production schedules for previous seasons and are most likely due to strikes and other issues at some point in the production process.

The White Lotus Season 4: Story details

Season four of The White Lotus wouldn’t provide many details about its plot. Like previous seasons, it will involve an entirely new group of guests and staff working at the White Lotus. The show explores issues such as wealth, privilege, class, human relationships, class, and human error, using reasonably humorous and serious character interactions written by Mike White. Mike will continue to write the new episodes for this season and said some of his friends from Survivor may appear on the show due to their popular fan bases, but no specifics have been provided anymore than usual. As with previous seasons, the basic structure of the show would have a different plot, and the connections between each season would be extremely limited, even though a few same actors would be reoccurring; Natasha Rothwell appearing several times and Jon Gries appearing at least once in prior seasons.
