The White Lotus Season 3 wrapped up with its eighth episode, titled Amor Fati, on April 6, 2025, and it sure didn’t disappoint. The finale was packed with shocking twists, dramatic moments, and emotional highs and lows that have fans talking non-stop.
In this intense episode, things went horribly wrong between Rick Hatchett (played by Walton Goggins) and Jim Hollinger (played by Scott Glenn). Their heated argument escalated to a deadly confrontation, ending with Rick shooting and killing Jim. But the chaos didn’t stop there—Chelsea (played by Aimee Lou Wood), Rick’s partner, was accidentally shot in the chaos, and to make matters worse, Rick himself was killed by Gaitok, who was following orders from Sritala. It was a messy, tragic conclusion for several key characters, leaving the audience reeling.
Meanwhile, Timothy, whose mental state had been deteriorating throughout the season, reached a breaking point in the finale. He attempted a desperate act of poisoning, using seeds from a local wild fruit to poison his entire family. But his twisted plan didn’t go as expected—only his son Lochlan drank the poisoned smoothie. Lochlan collapsed and experienced a vivid, near-death hallucination, caught between life and death. Luckily, he survived, but the family’s nightmare wasn’t over. Realizing his plot had failed, Timothy panicked, trying to flee the scene in a confused daze. He was later found wandering the beach, muttering about fate and forgiveness, and was eventually taken into custody by the authorities. His future remains uncertain for now.
As for the big question on everyone’s mind: Will there be a ninth episode? Well, the answer is no. Episode 8 was meant to be the grand finale of Season 3, wrapping up all the loose ends. HBO had already confirmed the release schedule, and the story had been structured to end with this episode, so there won’t be any more episodes in this season.
But don’t worry, fans of the show—it’s not the end of The White Lotus just yet. HBO announced back in January 2025 that the series had already been renewed for a fourth season, even before Season 3 aired. While there are no details on the cast or premiere date yet, creator Mike White has teased that Season 4 will take place in a new location, potentially somewhere in Europe. Fans are eagerly awaiting more updates and are already excited to see where the next chapter of the series will take them.
