The White Lotus May Leave the Beach After Explosive Season 3 Finale

Mike White, the creator of The White Lotus, has teased that the upcoming fourth season may break from the beachy vibe we’ve come to expect from the show. After the dramatic finale of Season 3, White hinted that the next season might step away from the “crashing waves and rocks” setting. However, he assured fans that there will still be plenty of drama and murders at whatever luxurious White Lotus destination they land on next.

While all previous seasons have taken place in sun-soaked beach resorts—Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand—Season 4 could offer a fresh twist by shifting the location to a different kind of luxury getaway. The exact destination is still under wraps, but White and the HBO team are actively scouting potential spots. Francesca Orsi, HBO’s drama chief, revealed in February that they’ll be looking at new locations in the coming weeks, with Europe being a strong contender.

In fact, Deadline reported that a European Four Seasons hotel is one of the possible settings for the new season. This could be an opulent destination on the French Riviera or any number of other European gems, allowing the show to maintain its lavish atmosphere without necessarily having the ocean as the backdrop.

The Four Seasons partnership, which has provided the stunning locations for each season, is likely to continue in Season 4. So, while a snowy mountain backdrop isn’t in the cards (Mike White has a well-known aversion to cold weather), fans can still expect the same luxe vibes and juicy drama, just with a new and exciting twist on location.
