The next movie in the 28 Years Later series, The Bone Temple, is already creating a lot of excitement. Fans loved the previous film, and now everyone is curious to see what comes next. Sony Pictures recently released the first trailer. It gave viewers their first look at Ralph Fiennes back in the role of Dr. Kelson.
This film continues the story from 28 Years Later, the movie directed by Danny Boyle. Cillian Murphy will also return as Jim. He only had a small role in the first movie, 28 Days Later, but now he’s back in a bigger way.
The story picks up after Spike meets Sir Jimmy Crystal and his gang in a post-apocalyptic England. The official synopsis hints at shocking developments. Dr. Kelson enters a relationship that has major consequences. Spike faces a terrifying situation with Jimmy Crystal that he cannot escape. The movie suggests that the infected are no longer the biggest danger. The real threat now comes from the actions of other humans, which can be even more frightening.
The cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Cillian Murphy, Emma Laird, Maura Bird, Erin Kellyman, and Chi Lewis-Parry. There is also a cameo by a star from Oppenheimer. Director Danny Boyle told Variety that this cameo will actually be a very important character in the story.
The script is by Alex Garland, who also produces the movie. The film is a collaboration between Columbia Pictures, Decibel Films, and DNA Films, and it will be released by Sony Pictures. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is set to hit theaters on January 16, 2026. Fans are already counting down the days.
