Warner Bros. has released the official teaser for its new horror movie Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind Barbarian. While some early clips were shown at CinemaCon, the newly released teaser is completely different and offers a fresh look at the movie’s eerie storyline.

The teaser begins with a mysterious scene where a child leaves his home in the middle of the night, causing panic for his worried parents. A voice is heard saying, “Mr. Graff, I understand your concern… if it were my child, I’d be asking questions too,” while the camera shows a child’s bedroom.

Another voice in the clip insists, “Those kids left on their own. No one took them.” After that, creepy visuals flash on the screen, showing children running around in their pajamas, adding to the unsettling vibe.

The film was originally planned for a release around Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, but the studio decided to move it up to August 2025.

At CinemaCon, Zach Cregger described Weapons as strange, full of surprises, and totally wild. The version of the teaser shown at the event included scenes of concerned parents at a PTA meeting demanding answers about their missing kids. It also featured Josh Brolin’s character shouting in frustration and Julia Garner’s character waking up in the middle of the night to find ghostly kids sitting at their desks in a classroom.

Weapons is scheduled to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.
