If you were left reeling after the ending of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3’s “Last Kiss,” you definitely weren’t alone. Belly (Lola Tung) broke off her engagement with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), packed her bags, and headed for Paris. But just before boarding her flight, she spotted Conrad (Christopher Briney) in that unforgettable airport cliffhanger, and fans have been desperate to know what comes next.
Now, a brand-new trailer gives a clearer picture of where Belly’s story is headed. While it’s still not confirmed whether she actually approaches Conrad in that moment, the footage makes one thing certain: Belly does board the plane. And with that choice, she begins a brand-new chapter of self-discovery in Paris.
The trailer shows Belly navigating the city, hopping on the Metro, riding buses, wandering cobblestone streets, and taking in her surroundings with fresh eyes. Before long, she lands a job at a cinema and begins forming new friendships. Among them is a character played by Heartstopper star Corinna Brown, who, according to her talent profile, is stepping into the role of Maeve.
Back home, Laurel (Jackie Chung) worries about her daughter from a distance, but the time away seems to give Belly space to figure out who she is outside of her complicated love triangle. Even so, her best friend Taylor (Rain Spencer) pops up in the trailer, joining Belly in Paris to ring in the New Year together.
Of course, the biggest question fans have is whether Belly’s Paris adventure means the end of her story with Conrad. The trailer teases that may not be the case. In one quick scene, Belly receives a letter from Conrad. Based on the return address, it seems he’s back in California finishing school, but the gesture hints that their bond may not be over just yet.
For readers of Jenny Han’s original books, this all feels like a hopeful step toward Team Conrad. Still, the show has made tweaks along the way, so fans will have to wait and see how things play out between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah as the season continues.
