Country music legend Alan Jackson has announced that he will be officially retiring from touring, marking the end of an era with one final concert in Nashville. The 66-year-old icon will take the stage one last time for “Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale,” set to take place on June 27, 2026, at Nissan Stadium. The show will celebrate a career that has spanned more than three decades and made Jackson one of the most beloved figures in country music history. Speaking to PEOPLE, Alan shared his excitement about performing in the city that launched his career, saying he couldn’t imagine a better place to say goodbye than Nashville, surrounded by friends and fellow artists who have been part of his journey.
Alan’s decision to step away from touring comes after years of dealing with significant health challenges. The singer has long battled Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) — a hereditary degenerative nerve condition that affects muscle strength, balance, and coordination. He first opened up about his diagnosis in 2021, revealing that he had been managing symptoms for more than a decade. At the time, he said, “I don’t want fans to think I’m drunk on stage. I have this neuropathy, a neurological disease I inherited from my daddy… It’s not deadly, but it will eventually disable me.”
Despite his diagnosis, Alan continued performing and touring until May 2025, completing what fans fondly called his “farewell road shows.” His decision to bring touring to an end is not just health-related, though — it’s deeply personal. Alan shared that while life on the road gave him experiences beyond what he ever imagined, he wanted his final performance to be close to home, near the friends and city that gave him everything. A portion of ticket proceeds will go toward the CMT Research Foundation, funding research to find a cure for the disease he’s been battling. “We just felt like we had to end it already here it all started for me, and that’s in Nashville, Music City, where country music lives,” Alan said.
Fans hoping to be part of this historic night can register for pre-sale tickets beginning October 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET on the official concert website. Registration will remain open until October 13, with pre-sale tickets available again on October 15 at 11 a.m. ET. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on October 17, 2025, coinciding with Jackson’s birthday. The star-studded event will feature performances by some of the biggest names in country music, including Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Lee Ann Womack, making it a true celebration of Alan’s legacy.
Away from the spotlight, Alan Jackson’s personal life has been as enduring as his music. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Denise Jackson, since December 1979, marking over 45 years of marriage. The couple shares three daughters — Mattie Denise, Alexandra “Ali” Jane, and Dani Grace — and became grandparents in December 2022 with the arrival of their first grandchild, Jackson Alvie Bradshaw. Denise has been Alan’s unwavering source of support throughout his career, even standing by him during their brief separation in 1997 following his admission of infidelity.
As Alan Jackson prepares for his last bow, his influence on country music remains undeniable — from timeless hits like “Remember When” and “Chattahoochee” to his deeply personal storytelling that has touched generations of fans. His final concert in Nashville isn’t just a farewell to touring; it’s a heartfelt tribute to a lifetime of music, resilience, and the place where it all began.
