The highly anticipated The Office spinoff, The Paper, has finally arrived on digital platforms, exciting fans of the original show. The first season premiered on September 4, with Domhnall Gleeson stepping into the role of the boss running a newspaper company. Like the 2005 hit, the spinoff is shot in a mockumentary style, with characters often breaking the fourth wall.

The show blends workplace chaos, comic timing, and the challenges of running a newspaper. It focuses on the Toledo Truth Teller and its quirky employees as they try to save the failing paper under an unusual boss. The official synopsis reads, “The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.”

The cast includes Gleeson alongside Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Oscar Nunez also returns from the original show, reprising his role as Oscar Martinez.

The first season consists of 10 episodes, each about 30 minutes long. Although the network initially planned to release the episodes weekly, all were dropped at once following early reviews and critics’ feedback. The season premiered on Peacock at 12 am PT / 3 am ET.
