The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 at New York City’s iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art, didn’t just deliver stunning fashion—it also delivered staggering numbers. According to Variety, this year’s gala surpassed 1.2 billion views globally across platforms, making it one of the most-watched Met Galas of all time.

Vogue’s YouTube channel and website alone accounted for the bulk of the viewership, with a 109% increase in night-of viewership compared to 2024. The replay value was equally massive: audiences revisited the red carpet again and again, pushing replay views up by 10% globally and 23% domestically, year-over-year.

Themed “Superfine: Tayloring Black Style,” the event celebrated the artistry, legacy, and innovation of Black fashion—and attendees did not hold back. From Rihanna’s show-stopping Marc Jacobs look to Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, Diljit Dosanjh, and Andre 3000, the blue carpet became a stage for style, power, and cultural homage.

The co-chairs this year included Anna Wintour, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, and honorary chair LeBron James, who was unable to attend due to an injury.

Much of the event’s buzz centered on Rihanna’s third pregnancy reveal, which she confirmed just before the gala. Her tailored Marc Jacobs ensemble—a fitted bustier bodysuit, pin-striped bustle skirt, and dramatic polka-dot cravat—was widely praised as a masterclass in theme interpretation. Her custom hat, made in collaboration with legendary milliner Stephen Jones, completed the look.

With fashion, culture, and celebrity colliding on one of the world’s biggest stages, Met Gala 2025 proved yet again why it’s the most-watched night in fashion.
