The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5: Plot details

The Netflix Synopsis states that Mickey Haller is thrown out of his normal world when his Sister Emi (Cobie Smulders) shows up needing his assistance for a wrongfully convicted woman. This season will explore blood relationships along with deep-rooted family secrets through Mickey’s journey obtaining a habeas petition to vacate a 6-year-old murder conviction. As Mickey investigates the case, he will face the increasing threats of those who oppose him. At the same time, Mickey’s crew (Lorna, Izzy, Cisco) will have their own high-profile hurdles to deal with.

The storyline for Season 4 is based on Michael Connelly’s 7th Mickey Haller novel, Resurrection Walk (2023), while allowing the show to creatively modify the story (i.e., Emi was included as a new character not found in the books). There will be plenty of Trials with a lot of personal drama due to hidden family secrets, along with conspiracies.

Season 4 ended with a cliffhanger that set up Emi’s arrival, and links back to the theme, generating excitement for Mickey’s next chapter of his intense personal/professional journey.
