Sean “Diddy” Combs’s high-profile sex trafficking trial is officially underway now that the jury has been selected. The panel is made up of 12 jurors—eight men and four women—with six alternates waiting in case they’re needed. Combs faces serious charges including racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He was arrested late last year.

The trial was originally scheduled to start earlier but was postponed by Judge Arun Subramanian to allow jurors more time to prepare and avoid second thoughts before the trial.

This trial is expected to last several weeks, with at least three or four accusers set to testify. One key witness will be Cassie Ventura, Combs’s ex-girlfriend, who was the first to come forward with accusations of rape and assault during their decade-long relationship.

Adding to the public attention, a video surfaced showing Combs dragging and kicking Ventura in a hotel lobby, which is expected to be a significant part of the case.

Two jurors initially selected later decided to step down, leading to the final 12 jurors now in place. On the first day of opening statements, Combs’s sons, Quincy Brown and King Combs, came to court to support their father.

The trial is happening in the federal district court in Lower Manhattan and, due to court rules, will not be televised.
