The Met Gala 2025 brought fresh creativity to the famous charity event. Celebrities walked the blue carpet showing off their best looks inspired by the theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style and the dress code, Tailored for You.

Known for its extravagant fashion and stunning decorations, this year’s gala didn’t disappoint. While only the attendees got to explore every detail, we do know some interesting things about the event.

Instead of the usual red carpet, the carpet was midnight blue with white and yellow flowers. The decorations also featured a floral theme. Vogue shared that artist Cy Gavin created a climbing tower of narcissus flowers for the gala. His painting Untitled (Sky) was even projected on the ceiling of the Temple of Dendur during dinner.

As always, the food at the gala got a lot of attention. This year, chef Kwame Onwuachi, who runs restaurants Tatiana in New York and Dōgon in Washington, DC, was in charge of the menu. The James Beard Award-winning chef told Vogue he was inspired by Black dandyism and the Black experience in fashion, which draws from many parts of the diaspora.

Guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers like hoecakes with crispy chicken, mini chopped cheeses, cornbread with caviar, and curry chicken patties during cocktail hour.

For dinner, the menu featured papaya piri piri salad, creole roasted chicken with lemon emulsion, and rice and peas. A special hot sauce and a Bodega Special Cosmic Brownie were also served to finish the meal.
