Teyana Taylor recently opened up about working with Leonardo DiCaprio in Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film One Battle After Another. In an interview with E! News, she shared that DiCaprio impressed her as expected, saying, “There was no real surprises. I mean, it’s still Leonardo DiCaprio. Like, even in him being dead serious, it’s still being funny.”
The film, set to release on September 26, marks their first time sharing the screen. Taylor plays the female lead opposite DiCaprio, and the movie is already generating a lot of buzz.
The two first met at Diana Ross’ birthday party. DiCaprio recalled joking around with Taylor and being immediately impressed by her sense of humor. He said, “This girl’s going to bring the heat, and she did.” Taylor remembers the encounter a bit differently. She was enjoying the performance and chewing gum when she noticed DiCaprio behind her. “We kind of sized each other up, and from there we hit it off instantly,” she said, adding that they are now “inseparable.”
On set, Taylor admitted she was initially starstruck but quickly got comfortable. She praised DiCaprio as both a mentor and a great leader, noting his mix of humor and professionalism. Even in serious moments, he kept the mood light and made working together enjoyable.
With both DiCaprio and Taylor in the lead roles, One Battle After Another is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year, featuring a story that explores romance, action, and intense emotional stakes.
