Taylor Swift has officially announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3, 2025. She shared the news on Instagram on August 13, revealing the album cover, full tracklist, and special edition details. This will be her first full-length album since 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department, which spent 17 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200.
The album’s title track features Sabrina Carpenter, who previously opened for Swift during part of the Eras Tour. Carpenter has spoken about her admiration for Swift, saying they share a mutual respect and that Swift’s music often comes at times she didn’t even realize she needed it.

- Elizabeth Taylor
- Opalite
- Father Figure
- Eldest Daughter

Swift is also releasing four special editions of the album—‘Sweat and Vanilla Perfume,’ ‘It’s Frightening,’ ‘It’s Rapturous,’ and ‘It’s Beautiful.’ Each edition comes with unique artwork, photo cards, and a collectible charm bracelet in a jewelry box.
Speaking on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce, Swift explained that the album was inspired by her experiences on the Eras Tour. She described it as a reflection of her inner life behind the scenes, capturing the vibrant and electric energy of the tour. The singer confirmed that the album is perfectly balanced at 12 songs, with no bonus tracks—she said, “You couldn’t take one out and it be the same album. You couldn’t add one and it would be the same album. It’s just right.”
