Taylor Swift has once again been forced to take legal action to protect her safety, this time against a man she says has been obsessively stalking her for years. The temporary restraining order, granted by a Los Angeles judge on June 9, 2025, follows disturbing revelations that 45-year-old Brian Jason Wagner not only visited her home multiple times but also falsely claimed she was the mother of his child. Court documents reveal that Wagner first appeared at Swift’s residence in July 2024, and though she has never met him, his behavior has grown more erratic and threatening over time. He allegedly altered his driver’s license to list Swift’s home address and sent delusional prison letters declaring a fabricated romantic relationship.

Swift’s declaration detailed Wagner’s repeated and unwanted visits, including incidents in May 2025 when he showed up at her property on back-to-back days under the pretense of “checking on a friend.” More alarmingly, on one of his earlier visits in July 2024, he carried a glass bottle that her security team feared could be used as a weapon. Their investigation uncovered Wagner’s criminal record and a disturbing pattern of emails sent to her staff—hundreds of them—filled with fictional stories of a relationship with the singer. He even attempted to redirect her personal mail to his own address, further blurring the line between fantasy and criminal intrusion.

The court’s restraining order now legally prohibits Wagner from approaching within 100 yards of Swift, her home, vehicle, workplace, or any place she may be present. In her filing, Swift expressed growing anxiety over Wagner’s escalating behavior and the real possibility of “imminent harm,” especially as his visits increased in both frequency and intensity. The situation echoes several past encounters Swift has endured with stalkers, including a 2024 incident involving a man arrested outside one of her Eras Tour venues.

Swift, who is currently dating NFL star Travis Kelce, has long been candid about the fears that come with fame. In a 2019 CBS Mornings interview, she reflected on the emotional toll of dealing with uninvited strangers, saying, “People tend to show up uninvited like dudes who think we have an imaginary marriage.” This latest legal action marks yet another reminder of the vulnerabilities celebrities face, even with tight security. With the court’s intervention, Swift now hopes to regain a sense of peace and personal safety in her own life.
