Taylor Swift is extending her generosity to a place close to her heart.
The singer has made a $1 million donation to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund at the community foundation of Middle Tennessee following the devastating tornados that swept through the multiple counties of the state.
Swift’s contribution was confirmed by Hal Ceto, CEO of the community foundation. The organisation operates a fund that supports nonprofits providing vital services in all phases of a disaster: immediate relief, short-term recovery, and long-term recovery.
The 12-time Grammy winner is often seen socialising on the East Coast, she was just named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year, retaining her ties to Nashville, where she lives and also has her office.
Cato stated that Swift’s donation will be used in supporting the “immediate and long-term recovery needs” in the Sumner County and the surrounding areas which are affected the most.
Swift’s donation is hardly the first time the newly minted billionaire has quietly engaged in philantrophy.
