Tandoori Chicken is a beloved Indian dish known for its vibrant flavors and tender, juicy meat. This recipe features chicken marinated in a blend of yogurt and spices, then grilled to perfection, creating a dish that’s both aromatic and delicious.
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds chicken pieces (such as drumsticks, thighs, or breast)
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons tandoori spice blend
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together plain yogurt, tandoori spice blend, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and toss until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off any excess.
- Grill the chicken pieces for 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and charred in spots. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
