The S&P/TSX Completion Index, representing mid-sized Canadian companies, inched up +0.08% to 1,489.92. However, the S&P/TSX 60, which tracks large-cap companies, fell -0.30% to 1,501.60.
In contrast, the S&P/TSX Venture index saw a slight decline of -0.30%, dropping to 591.96, while the S&P/TSX 60 added +0.16%, reaching 1,506.31.
The S&P/TSX Completion Index is up by 1.27 points, trading at 1,485.14, reflecting a slight 0.09% rise, indicating stability in the completion segment.
Similarly, the S&P/TSX Venture index, focusing on early-stage companies, fell by 6.23 points or -1.02% to 603.01, while the S&P/TSX Completion index, which tracks smaller companies outside the top 60, edged down by 5.7 points or -0.38%, sitting at 1,493.69.
On a positive note, the S&P/TSX Venture index showed a minor uptick of 0.68 points, or 0.0011%, moving slightly higher to 614.11 before settling.
Similarly, the S&P/TSX Venture Index, tracking emerging companies, saw a rise of 1.79 points, translating to a 0.003% gain, positioning it at 603.9. The index briefly touched a high of 603.9 and a low of 601.35.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index was at 24,456.30 points, reaching a high of 24,483.17. The index rose by 68.40 points, or 0.28%.
The S&P/TSX Smallcap Index has also recorded gains, increasing by +2.72 points, or +0.33%, with a current level of 829.06.
In contrast, the S&P/TSX Smallcap Index rose by 2.92 points to 829.26, marking an increase of +0.35%.
The S&P/TSX Venture index experienced a slight decline of 0.14%, dropping to 603.12 after reaching a high of 608.62 and a low of 602.77.
