The 27-year-old actress, best known for her work in Euphoria and Anyone But You, looked nearly unrecognizable while filming in North Carolina over the weekend.

She was seen wearing baggy pants, a tan T-shirt, an oversized zip-up jacket, and white sneakers—an outfit that contrasts sharply with her usual sultry and fashion-forward style. To further complete her transformation, she tied a blue bandana around her dark wig, concealing her trademark curves and glamorous image, and appeared to go makeup-free while filming.
The biopic, directed by David Michôd, will chronicle Christy Martin’s extraordinary life and career. Martin, now 56, rose to prominence in the 1990s as one of the greatest female boxers in American history. Known for her charisma, talent, and relentless fighting spirit, Martin quickly became a fan favorite. However, her journey was marred by personal struggles, including a tumultuous and abusive relationship with her manager and later husband, Jim Martin.
In 2010, Jim Martin viciously attacked Christy, stabbing and shooting her in a shocking act of domestic violence. Miraculously, the boxing champ survived the brutal attack and has since dedicated her life to raising awareness about domestic violence, sexuality challenges, and the resilience of underdogs. In May, Martin expressed her excitement about Sweeney portraying her on the big screen, praising the young actress for her talent and dedication.
“I think she is young, hot, talented, and about to make a movie that in 20+ years, fathers will watch with their daughters to make them aware of domestic violence,” Christy Martin told TMZ.
The film promises to be a powerful story of triumph and survival, showcasing not only Martin’s boxing achievements but also her resilience in the face of overwhelming adversity.
