Stock market today: S&P 500 surged by 1.60% while NASDA 100 posted gain of 1.70% in early trading

As of 9:47 AM ET today, the stock market showed upward momentum across major indices, signaling investor optimism. 

The S&P 500 climbed to 5,936.44 USD, reflecting a gain of +1.60%. Similarly, the NASDAQ 100 Index surged to 21,110.20 USD, marking an impressive increase of +1.70%.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index also experienced a robust performance, rising to 43,191.32 USD, up by +1.58%. Meanwhile, the NASDAQ Composite Index recorded the highest percentage increase among the indices, reaching 19,394.79 USD, with a gain of +1.84%.

The NYSE Composite Index displayed steady growth as well, advancing to 19,439.89 USD, up by +1.37%, further contributing to the overall positive sentiment in the markets.

After the release of the inflation data for December 2024, the market has shown positive movement as the core inflation data came below the expectations boosting the possibility that the Federal Reserve will still be able to cut interest rates this year.
