As of 9:42 AM EST, major U.S. stock indices recorded slight gains as trading began on Friday. The indices in Wall Street are showcasing a green signal after the release of employment data by the Labor Department early on Friday which indicated that the U.S. economy has added about 143,000 jobs and the unemployment rate fell down to 4%.
The S&P 500 rose to 6,094.96 USD, marking a 0.19% increase. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy NASDAQ 100 Index climbed to settle at 21,774.07 USD, gaining 0.54% in early trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a modest uptick, reaching 44,755.93 USD, up by 0.02%. Similarly, the NASDAQ Composite Index advanced to 19,791.99 USD, reflecting a 0.51% increase. The NYSE Composite Index also edged higher, reaching 20,170.5736 USD, with a 0.06% gain.
