Stock market today: S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 both down by 0.12% and 2.97% simultaneously in early trading on Tuesday

As of 9:44 AM EST today, Wall Street saw a mixed performance across major indices as the market is still recovering from the turbulence caused by DeepSeek-inspired tech rout. Investors are also preparing for the start of the Federal Reserve guided by Trump’s return and his tariff policies.  

The S&P 500 stood at 6,004.81 USD, marking a slight decline of 0.12%. Tech-heavy stocks took a hit, as the NASDAQ 100 Index plunged to 21,127.28 USD, dropping by 2.97%, while the broader NASDAQ Composite Index mirrored the downturn, falling to 19,341.83 USD, down 3.07%.

In contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index held its ground, rising marginally to 44,745.35 USD, reflecting a 0.07% increase. Meanwhile, the NYSE Composite Index recorded a minor dip, settling at 19,965.1661 USD, down 0.07%.
