Stock market today: S&P 500 plunged by 1.05% while DJIA witnessed loss of 0.83% in early trading

As of 9:39 AM EST, the U.S. stock market witnessed a fluctuating morning as major indices displayed a mix of gains and losses.

The S&P 500 dropped by 1.05%, settling at 5,856.38 USD, marking a challenging start for broad market equities. Meanwhile, the NASDAQ 100 Index remained at 0.04% with a value of 21,180.96 USD, as it is yet to open for the day’s trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index, a key indicator of blue-chip stocks, slipped by 0.83%, standing at 42,279.60 USD. Similarly, the NASDAQ Composite Index edged lower by 0.06%, recording a value of 19,478.88 USD . The NYSE Composite Index, which tracks the performance of all stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange, also faced a decline of 0.80%, falling to 19,086.48 USD.
