Stock market news: NVIDIA still down by 16.05% while Broadcom fell by 17.85% amid DeepSeek’s statement

As of 12:47 PM EST today, a number of prominent tech companies have experienced turbulent price shifts amid statements from DeepSeek, a Chinese AI startup, causing disruption in Wall Street. At the top was NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) which saw a sharp decline of −16.05%, with the stock currently priced at 119.73 USD and a market capitalization of 494.31 M USD.

In contrast, Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) experienced a moderate drop of −2.43%, with the stock trading at 396.69 USD with a market cap of 1.27 T USD. On a more positive note, Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) saw a slight increase of +0.49%, bringing its stock price up to 650.69 USD. Meta’s market capitalization stands at 1.64 T USD.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) also saw an uptick, with its stock price rising by +3.34%, now valued at 230.22 USD. The tech giant’s market cap has reached 3.46 T USD.Meanwhile, Broadcom Inc. (AVGO) experienced a significant decline of −17.85%, with shares trading at 201.02 USD. Its market cap now stands at 942.25 B USD.

Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) reported a drop of −3.69%, with its stock priced at 427.67 USD. The company’s market cap is currently 3.18 T USD. Similarly, Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) also saw a decline, with its stock falling by −1.28%, now priced at 231.85 USD. Amazon’s market cap stands at 2.44 T USD.

Lastly, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) saw a decrease of −5.94%, with shares priced at 115.54 USD. The company holds a market cap of 187.5 B USD.

On Monday, stocks of several tech-giants including Microsoft(MSFT), NVIDIA (NVDA) and Amazon.com(AMZN)  which are highly dependent on AI. Companies like Broadcom(AVGO) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)  that focus on chip-making have also faced decline after DeepSeek admitted they make cheaper chips as compared to their Chinese counterparts.
