As of 12:08 PM EST, the U.S. stock market, especially the top indices displayed a mixed trend during the mid day trading session.
The S&P 500 stood at 6,106.47 USD, marking a 0.58% increase. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy NASDAQ 100 Index surged to 21,795.76 USD, gaining 1.34% after members of Magnificent 7 including Apple Inc. and Meta Platforms released an optimistic fourth-quarter earnings report.
In contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index saw a slight dip, settling at 44,860.70 USD, as it was down by 0.05%. Despite this minor decline, the overall sentiment in the market remained positive. The NASDAQ Composite Index also climbed, reaching 19,923.27 USD, with a 1.23% increase, reinforcing strength in the tech sector.
Despite a turbulent week of trading the major indices are ending the week on a positive note as most of them have marked an increase on Friday afternoon.
