As of 12:17 PM EST, major market indices in Wall Street experienced gains as trading continued on Tuesday afternoon. Indices have shown greater momentum amid exchange of tariff impositions between the U.S. and China.
Trump’s administration had announced a 10% import tariff on China effective from Feb 4, ET. In reply to this, Beijing imposed a 15% trade tariff on U.S. coal and liquified natural gas starting Feb 10.
The S&P 500 reached a valuation of 6,023.68 USD, reflecting a +0.49% increase. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy NASDAQ 100 Index rose to 21,533.01 USD, marking a +1.11% jump.
However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average settled at 44,463.73 USD, as it was up by +0.09%, and the NASDAQ Composite Index marked the maximum jump as it climbed to 19,618.92 USD, marking a rise of +1.17%.
