Stock market news: NASDAQ 100 and DJIA both slip by 1.06% and 0.78% simultaneously amid release of inflation data

 As of 12:05 PM EST, the U.S. stock market experienced a broad decline as major indices fell in midday trading,after the release of inflation data, raising investor concern. Investors are also apprehensive that Trump’s administration might introduce new tariffs that can impact the market. 

The S&P 500 dropped to 6,027.05, marking a 0.93% decline. Meanwhile, the NASDAQ 100 Index also saw losses, slipping to 21,543.92, a 1.06% drop, as technology stocks faced renewed selling pressure.

However,  the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index fell to 44,399.75, down 0.78%. The NASDAQ Composite Index recorded the steepest decline among the major benchmarks, sinking to 19,547.44, a 1.24% decrease.
